The coating described herein attempts to provide this solution by synthesizing alkoxysilane- terminated N-substituted urea resins, then formulating them into moisture-curable single- component (IK) topside coatings. These coatings will provide greater external stability (to UV and visible radiation), cleanability, flexibility, cure times and lower VOC content than the currently qualified silicone alkyd topside coatings that are found on Navy ships. The single- component coating can include at least an alkoxysilane-terminated N-substituted urea resin, a reactive diluent, a pigment, a filler, and a catalyst. Rapid and definitive bioagent detection and identification can be carried out without nucleic acid sequencing. Analysis of a variety of bioagents and samples, such as air, fluid, and body samples, can be carried out to provide information useful for industrial, medical, and environmental purposes. Nucleic acid samples of unknown or suspected bioagents may be collected, optimal primer pairs may be selected, and the nucleic acid may be amplified. Expected mass spectra signal models may be generated and selected, the actual mass spectra of the amplicons may be obtained. The expected mass spectra most closely correlating with the actual mass spectra may be determined using a joint maximum likelihood analysis, and base counts for the actual mass spectra and the expected mass spectra may be obtained. The most likely candidate bioagents may then be determined.

The system (100) comprises a wireless communications network augmented with low cost channel selective repeaters (130) that is capable of repeating only desired signals, thereby suppressing undesirable interference and increasing network capacity. The repeaters (130) can be integrated into an existing wireless network with minimal impact to the existing network topology or control structure.

The integrated optics chip (50) inlcuding a set of waveguides (10) whose exit apertures (15) are positioned along a curved line. Embodiments are applicable to system using integrated optical light guides as the sources for imaging. Further, the systems and methods allow for a wide view using simple aspheric lenses with resulting savings in complexity, mass, and cost.

An advanced imaging spectrograph system (10) includes an electrophoresis device (12), an optical imaging device (14), and a processor (16), configured to provide for slab-gel DNA sequencing and genotyping with high throughput sequencing. The system is based on the integration of improved electrophoresis structures with an imaging spectrophotometer that records the entire emission spectra along an imaging line across a sequencing gel (or capillary array). In one embodiment, the electrophoresis device (12) includes a large number of parallel lanes (18) formed in an electrophoresis gel (20) which is sandwiched between two flat rectangular glass plates (22). The system includes spectral shape matching to improve dye identification allowing the use of dyes having nearly any emission spectra and allowing greater than four dye multiplexing.
