Abstract:
The present invention relates to a light unit comprising a power management system being capable of delivering electrical power from a power generating unit of the light unit to an associated power distributing system, said power management system comprising a system controller adapted to deliver power to the power distributing system in accordance with a number of inputs to said system controller.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for artificial lighting, comprising one or more lamp posts, which lamp post comprises a shaft and a light armature, which light armature comprises LED light sources, which LED light sources are connected to a control system, which system comprises one or more PIR sensors. It is the object of the pending patent application to achieve a continuous calibration of one or more PIR sensors. A further object is to achieve a system that detects motion near the lamp post and the system is able to select between false and correct motion near the lamp post. In a preferred embodiment for the invention the calibration can be based on the actual noise level performing a calibration of the PIR sensors for increasing the sensitivity of the PIR sensor, which system is adapted to detect motion near the lamp post. Hereby can be achieved that the PIR sensor automatically will be calibrated dependent on the actual noise level detected by the PIR sensor. Because the PIR sensor is placed at a lamp post and thereby outside, changes in temperature and humidity can have a large influence on the noise level from a PIR sensor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for operating a light source in order to reduce power usage, the method comprising the steps of determining a predetermined traffic related activity, and operating the light source in accordance with said determined traffic related activity. The invention further relates to a street light being capable of performing said method.
