Abstract:
A wall unit (V) for a retaining structure (100) comprises a foot portion (1 a') and a wall portion (1 b'), wherein the wall portion (1 b') is inclined with respect to the foot portion (1 a'), so that it extends over the foot portion (1 a'). Accordingly, the wall unit (1 ') is stable during construction and assembly. A corner unit (7') for a retaining structure (100) is adapted to engage with two wall units (1 '). A retaining structure (100) comprises at least one wall unit (1 ').
Abstract:
A geomembrane integrity monitoring system comprises control means (18) and a plurality of sensors (20), wherein the sensors (20) are electrically isolated from each other and in electrical communication to the control means (18), wherein the sensors (20) have a sheet form.
Abstract:
A membrane 10 is a geomembrane 10, which takes the form of a non-conductive sheet 11. A conductive layer 13 is printed on to the sheet 11, in this instance in a geometric pattern of a rectangular grid. The lines of the grid 13 are conductive and connected to each other, with non-conductive gaps 15 disposed between the grid lines. Accordingly, a conductive linear network is formed, which has the requisite conductivity for leak detection.
Abstract:
A conductive mesh (2) is a mesh comprising first members (21) and second members (22), spaced so as to form a grid. The conductive mesh (2) is provided as a single conductive layer, having the requisite strength to support itself without need of a plastic support or a non-conductive layer. The conductive mesh (2) may comprise polyethylene, though it will be understood that other plastics may be employed. The conductive mesh (2) also comprises carbon in order to provide conductive properties.
Abstract:
A fluid retaining structure comprising an electronic leak detection and location, ELDL, system, wherein the fluid retaining structure comprises inner and outer liners (18, 16) that form electrical isolation layers of the ELDL system, wherein an electrically conductive signal layer (10, 12) of the ELDL system provides structural rigidity to the fluid retaining structure.
