Abstract: Adjustable restraint includes a plantar plate surrounded by a peripheral element about which a plurality of supports can be positioned; a support system attachable to that plate or element for providing vertical and horizontal support; and a lower leg securing housing.' The housing is attachable to the support system through adjustable fastener (s) such it can be adjusted vertically and secured in position with respect to the plantar plate. A sole portion of the plantar plate may be removable. The support system can include first support (s) and second support (s) attachable to the plate or element, and, through first adjustable fastener (s) and second adjustable fastener(s) , respectively, the first adjustable fastener (s) and second adjustable fastener (s) be attachable to the housing.

Abstract: A ceramic body can be made by a method that includes providing an initial green body of ceramic (520/521); and machining the initial green body to provide a machined green ceramic body (530). The machined green ceramic body may be fired to provide a more finished ceramic body (540) and/or further processed to provide a finally finished ceramic body (550). As illustrations of the many possible, the ceramic body can be a femoral component (100) for a posterior stabilized knee implant or component body (101) for an artificial rotation device containing knee prosthesis. Zircona ceramic bodies are advantageously provided.

Abstract: Implant bore insert (10) has an outer surface (16) that is, at least in part, substantially cylindrically aligned. The insert may be blind, thus forming a cup, or it may be open ended. Preferably, the insert is provided with a predetermined outer circumferential surface (17) that provides for a suitable interference fit with a corresponding bore hole (25) of an implant component part (20). When inserted into the bore hole, the insert preferably seats itself on a blind end (22) of the bore hole.
