Abstract: A passenger transportation system having: at least one rail (12, 13, 14) extending along a path (Pl); at least one trolley (16) movable along the rail (12, 13, 14); an actuating device having a linear electric motor (5), in turn having at least one slide (21) fitted to the trolley (16), and a linear stator (11) extending at least partly along the path (Pl), and having an elongated body (23), and a number of power windings (24) embedded in the elongated body (23); and a number of sensors (25) for controlling the position of the trolley (16); the sensors (25) being fitted to the elongated body (23) and so positioned as to minimize noise generated by the power windings (24) on the sensors (25).
