Abstract:
A wheelchair includes a frame, and a front pivot arm pivotally mounted to the frame at a front pivot point, the front pivot arm having a caster for supporting the frame. A rear pivot arm is pivotally mounted to the frame at a rear pivot point, the rear pivot arm having a caster for supporting the frame. A ground engaging mid- wheel drive wheel is connected to the frame. A linkage connects the front and rear pivot arms to each other in a manner such that an upward or downward rotation of one of the pivot arms about its pivot point causes rotation of the other pivot arm about its pivot point in an opposite rotational direction.
Abstract:
An improved wheel assembly comprises a caster fork (12), a caster wheel (14) rotatably supported by the caster fork, and a caster swivel post (16) defining an axis about which the caster fork rotates. The caster swivel post is being adapted to rotate about a pivot axis within a cylindrical housing(20). Alternatively, the wheel assembly has an adjustable axle for varying the camber angle of a wheel. The wheel assembly comprises housing and an axle supported by the housing. The axle in turn rotatably supports a wheel. The axle is adapted to rotate about a pivot axis within a cylindrical housing.

Abstract:
A scooter has two ground engaging rear wheels connected to a frame and configured to support the frame. A ground engaging front drive wheel is also connected to the frame and mounted for rotation about a vertical axis so that the front wheel is a steerable wheel. A drive motor is connected to the front wheel to drive the scooter. The front drive wheel is set well back from the front of the scooter for increased maneuverability. A steering hub is connected to the frame and configured to rotatably support a tiller assembly, wherein the steering hub is forward of and spaced apart from the front wheel. A mechanism can be provided to distribute some of the weight of the vehicle away from the rear wheels and onto rear anti-tip wheels for improved traction on inclined surfaces.
Abstract:
A modular actuator has a combination cam member and scissors mechanism in a compact unit that is capable of lifting heavy loads. A pull member is capable of controlling and combining two different mechanisms that travel at different rates through two ranges of motion. The cam member has a profile that is dimensioned and configured to maintain a constant range of motion.
Abstract:
A seat assembly can be mounted on various wheelchair bases. The seat assembly enables the seat width and backrest width to be adjusted independently of each other. A backrest has a plurality of open slots, the number and orientation of which contributes to depth, width, and height adjustment of the backrest as well as angular adjustment of lateral supports to permit the backrest to conform to the anatomical curves of a user. A backrest foam assembly comprises multiple foam sections that are adapted to be positioned relative to each other and thereby vary the overall width of the assembly. A cover comprises multiple sections, each covering a foam section. A multi-position adjustable armrest assembly combines large-scale and small-scale adjustments, which provides a broad range of adjustment for the armrest and its position. A power recline mechanism with programmable shear reduction includes a dual rotary recline mechanism.

Abstract:
A module that is adapted to be situated between a base and a seat. The module has ends that are independently adjustable to selectively raise the seat, lower the seat, and tilt the seat. The module is particularly suitable for use with a wheelchair to selectively raise, lower, and tilt the wheelchair seat.
