Abstract:
There is disclosed a method using a data content brokering apparatus (80) to provide access to downloaded data content (120) by other means than via a user device (140). The method includes receiving a first request (100) from the user device (140) and in response to the first request, transmitting a second request (110) to the server (130). The method further includes receiving a response from the server (130), receiving the data content (120) from one or more sources of data content (20) and selecting at least one target device (150) to which the data content (120) is downloadable. Furthermore, the method includes redirecting, at the data content brokering apparatus (80), the data content (120) to the at least one target device (150) to which said data content (120) is downloadable thereby providing access to the data content (120) by other means than via the user device (140).
Abstract:
There is described a ball dispenser (20) susceptible for use in a ball dispenser system (10). The ball dispenser (20) includes an ball container (50) for receiving balls (40), for example golf balls, to be dispensed. The dispenser (20) further includes a dispensing mechanism (140) coupled to the ball container (50) for receiving therefrom balls (40) to be dispensed to users (60). Moreover, the dispenser (20) includes a control unit (130) coupled in communication with the dispensing mechanism (140) for controlling the dispensing mechanism (140) for dispensing the balls (40) therethrough to the users (60). Furthermore, the dispenser (20) includes one or more sources of electrical power (120) local to the dispenser (20) for providing operating power to the dispenser (20). Users (60) are able to request dispensing of balls (40) from the ball dispenser (20) using short-range wireless communication with the control unit (130). In order to allow for optimal spatial deployment of the dispenser (20), the dispenser (20) includes a coupling arrangement (325) for attaching the dispenser (20) releasably to its foundations (300).
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for providing an animation from prerecorded still pictures where the relative positions of the pictures are known. The method is based on prerecorded still pictures and location data, associated with each still picture, that indicates the projection of the subsequent still picture into the current still picture. The method comprises the repeated steps of providing a current still picture, providing the location data associated with the still picture, generating an animation based on the current still picture and the location data, and presenting the animation on a display. The invention provides the experience of driving a virtual car through the photographed roads, either by an auto pilot or manually. The user may change speed, drive, pan, shift lane, turn in crossings or take u-turns anywhere. Also, the invention provides a means to experience real time, interactive video-like animation from widely separated still pictures, as an alternative to video-streaming over a communication line. This service is called Virtual Car Travels.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and device for accessing services and files on a computer (4) in a home network (1) from a stationary or mobile device (8, 9) outside said local network Said local network is equipped with a networked file system, and said stationary or mobile device is able to communicate with said local network over a wide area network. For any networked file system message that is to be transmitted over said wide area network, at least some fields of said networked file system message are mapped into corresponding fields in an XML message representing said networked system message. Any XML message that is received over said wide area network, said XML message is parsed, and if said XML message represents a networked file system message, a networked file system message is reconstructed by mapping each field of said XML message into a corresponding field of said reconstructed networked file message.
Abstract:
A method is described for providing and storing a digital picture acquired with a digital camera embodied on a mobile communication terminal comprising memory, sender and receiver connected to a base station, with a descriptive filename including information of the geograhical location of where the picture was taken. This is achieved by sending a trigger signal from the mobile communication terminal initiating a request of location information to the base station when a picure is taken. Based on the mobile communication terminal's location, relevant geographical locations acquired from a map server is presented as suggestions to the user of the mobile communication terminal. The user of the mobile communication terminal chooses a location and a filename is provided for the picture comprising the chosen location name. The picture will then be stored with a descriptive filename.
Abstract:
A system, method and protocol are disclosed for transferring messages to and from a mobile terminal from an email server. The emails are transferred by means of an email service server with a SOAP interface towards the mobile terminal and the common POP/IMAP/SMTP interfaces towards the email server.
Abstract:
Plug-in or other code allows for telecommunications services to be accessed from within an office automation software environment. Monitoring of a user processing a document of an office application recognizes user input of a smart tag featured character string and/or a research panel menu selection to call a selected program to request a telecommunications service associated with the recognition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a subscriber identity module for a mobile communication terminal, comprising a processing device, a memory device, an I/O device and a wireless communication device, in particular an interrogatable transponder such as an RFID transponder. The RFID transponder is operatively controllable by said processing device, and comprises a memory which contains identification data, configurable by the processing device. The RFID-enabled subscriber identification module may be used as an authentication token. A method for providing secure communications between the subscriber identification module and an RFID interrogating device is also provided.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for determining the ability of a network to spread information or physical traffic. Said network includes a number of network nodes interconnected by links. The method comprises mapping the topology of a network, computing a value for link strength between the nodes, computing an Eigenvector Centrality index for all nodes, based on said link strength values identifying nodes which are local maxima of the Eigenvector Centrality index as centre nodes, grouping the nodes into regions surrounding each identified centre node, assigning a role to each node from its position in a region, as centre nodes, region member nodes, border nodes, bridge nodes, dangler nodes, and measuring the susceptibility of the network to spreading, based on the number of regions, their size, and how they are connected.
