Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for a durable, wear resistant composite fabric. In one exemplary embodiment the composite fabric comprises an outer layer of a woven synthetic fabric, and a backing layer of a woven fabric made from high tenacity fibers. The backing layer may be consolidated with the outer layer.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is direct to a soft body armor assembly that comprises a first subpanel and a second subpanel. The first subpanel may have a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may have a first plurality of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber sheets. Each sheet of the first plurality may have two single layers of unidirectional sheets cross plied at 90 degrees to one another. The second portion may have a second plurality of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber sheets. The second subpanel may comprise a third portion and a fourth portion. The third portion may have a third plurality of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber sheets. The fourth portion may have one or more composite sheets.
Abstract:
Materials and constructions for wear resistant textile articles are disclosed. In one exemplary embodiment a first portion of a textile article is made from a woven synthetic fiber material, and a second portion of the textile article is made from a composite material. The composite material may comprise an outer layer of a woven synthetic fiber material, and a backing layer of a woven high performance fiber fabric.
Abstract:
Implementations described and claimed herein provide versatile tactical belts. In one implementation, at least one row of webbing is attached to a base belt at a plurality of attachment points. Each of the plurality of attachment points is spaced from an adjacent attachment point by a distance and forms a channel therebetween. A first end of the base belt extends through an opening in a first buckle portion to form an adjustable end portion. A second end of the base belt extends through an opening in a second buckle portion and is secured to the base belt to form a fixed end portion. A spacer has a spacer body with an inner surface and an outer surface. The spacer body includes a cover enclosing padding. The spacer releasably engages the base belt for comfort.
Abstract:
Implementations described and claimed herein provide tactical devices, such as vests and soft ballistic armor, configured for a female wearer and methods of manufacturing the same. In one implementation, a front carrier has an inner surface and an outer surface forming an interior. A front carrier pocket is disposed on the outer surface of the front carrier, and the front carrier pocket is adapted to receive a ballistic hard plate. A soft ballistic armor is disposed in the interior of the front carrier. The soft ballistic armor has an armor female shape defined by a set of lateral portions connecting an upper portion and a lower portion. A lateral dart is disposed in each of the lateral portions. The lateral darts are each adapted to displace the ballistic hard plate in a direction away from the inner surface of the front carrier.
