Abstract:
An apparatus for tightening a round edged tool around a rotary shaft. This apparatus reduces the labor of changing a round edged tool tightening position. This apparatus is constructed so that a base tube (1) fitted slidably around a rotary shaft (S) is tightened therearound by reducing the inner diameter of the base tube (1), a small-diameter part (12) which has a smaller outer diameter and a larger-diameter part (13) which has a larger outer diameter are provided on this base tube (1) to fit a disc type round edged tool (C) around the smaller-diameter part (12) of the base tube (1) and abut against one end surface of the larger-diameter part (13) of the base tube (1), and a tubular pusher (21) is fitted around the smaller-diameter part (12) of the base tube (1) to press, the round edged tool (C) against the end surface of the larger-diameter part (13) of the base tube (1) by the pusher (21) to thereby tighten the edged tool (C). This apparatus is used for a band plate cutting machine, such as a slitter or a trimmer.
Abstract:
A disk array subsystem having magnetic disk drives provided with a diagnostic function for maintenance of media. The subsystem sets up a substitutive block in a magnetic disk drive when a defective block of which the data may become unreadable is detected by the diagnosis and writes the data of the defective block in the substitutive block when the system can read out the data of the defective block. When system cannot read out the data of the defective block, the subsystem restores the data of the defective block by recovering the data by using the data of the parity group of the disk drives and setting up a substitutive block in a magnetic disk drive, and then, writing the recovered data in the substitutive block.
Abstract:
A polyester film made of organic polymer particles, which have a specified strength at the time of deformation, and of which the product of the specific surface area and diameter is specified. The particles in film form are deformed in a specific direction, and the film has a surface with minute projections. This polyester film has a desired surface form, particularly suitable for magnetic recording media, and has excellent balance of travellability, wear resistance and electromagnetic conversion characteristics.

A biaxially oriented polyester film wherein the ratio R (= IMD/IND) of the peak intensity (IMD) in the lengthwise direction to the peak intensity (IND) in the thicknesswise direction determined at 1615 cm by the laser Raman scattering technique equals or exceeds 6; and a process for the production of a biaxially oriented polyester film which comprises controlling the ratio (A/B) of the maximum thickness (A) of the edge of a cast film to the thickness (B) of the central portion with respect to the width thereof to be within the range of 2 to 6, biaxially stretching the cast film, and controlling the peak intensity ratio of the biaxially oriented film determined by the laser Raman scattering technique to be within the aforementioned range. The biaxially oriented polyester film thus produced has a specific orientation in the lengthwise direction, and therefore has great lengthwise strength and small irregularity in properties, such as thickness or double refraction.

An automatic water supply system which is capable of cultivating plants robustly in an as natural a state as possible and avoiding waste of water, the system comprising, at least, a water content sensor for detecting the water content of subjects of water supply becoming insufficient, a first timer section for measuring a first predetermined time depending on this detection, water supply means for supplying water when the water content sensor does not detect sufficiency of the water content within the first predetermined time, and means for initializing the first timer section when sufficiency of the water content is detected within the first predetermined time. In this automatic water supply system, it is preferable that water supply be stopped after passage of a second predetermined time measured separately or that water supply be stopped when a measured value from a flowmeter installed in the water channel reaches a predetermined flow rate value after water supply has been started.

Screen data created by an image processor (74) of a control host computer (7) is transmitted to a programmable display device (5). Based on the screen data, the programmable display device (5) queries a PLC (3) about the state of a device (21) to update display and transmit control instructions according to an input result. An applet that a compiler (76) produces by compiling the screen data is transmitted to a client device (9) through the Internet (32) by an open server (77) of the control host computer (7). The client device (9) executes the applet, sends the open server (77) an inquiry and control instructions similar to those from the programmable display device (5), and updates a display according to a response. A control system is realized for remotely checking the display contents of the programmable display device (5) without redrawing.

This invention relates to a sheet-like composite material which is obtained by coating or impregnating a fibrous substrate with an elastic polymer material, prevents adhesion between fibers constituting the fibrous substrate and the elastic polymer material, is extremely soft and has extremely high wear resistance or high peel-off strength. The composite material can be produced by subjecting the fibrous substrate to hydrophobic treatment, impregnating or coating the substrate with a solution of the elastic polymer material to which a hydrophilic silicone is added, and wet coagulating the substrate.

A thermoplastic polyester composition comprising a thermoplastic polyester (A) prepared from an acid component mainly comprising an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and a glycol component mainly comprising an aliphatic glycol and THETA -type aluminum oxide particles (B); another thermoplastic polyester composition comprising the thermoplastic polyester (A) and a mixture (C) of at least two kinds of aluminum oxide particles different from each other in crystal structure; and films made from these compositions. The compositions can provide films excellent in slipperiness, wear resistance, and scratch resistance in repeated high-speed traveling.

A thermoplastic polyester composition suitable for producing films or fibers excellent in wear resistance, and a biaxially oriented polyester film made therefrom. The composition comprises (A) a thermoplastic polyester and (B) monoclinic and/or tetragonal zirconium oxide particles.
