Abstract: An adaptable relational database system comprises a database schema having relational integrity, wherein the database schema includes a plurality of entities associated with a plurality of attributes. The plurality of attributes in the database may be varied such that the database includes a first set of attributes associated with a first time and a second set of attributes associated with a second time. The second set of attributes includes at least one attribute that is not included in the first set of attributes. The relational integrity of the database is maintained as the plurality of attributes in the database is varied. In one embodiment, the relational database is displayed in rectangular/table format, including a display of the first set of attributes, the second set of attributes and data associated with the first set of attributes and the second set of attributes.
