Abstract: A method, system and device for triggering authentication are provided, whereas the method comprises: the data path function DPF receives the authentication message from the gateway-mobile station G-MS, and the destination IP address of the authentication message is the first IP address; the DPF selects the authentication, authorization and accounting proxy AAA Proxy and sends the authentication message to the AAA Proxy to trigger the authentication. According to the embodiment of the invention, after receiving the authentication message whose destination IP address is the first IP address, the DPF selects the AAA Proxy, and sends the authentication message to the selected AAA Proxy, furthermore the flow of the authentication of the host is triggered by the AAA Proxy, consequently a method for triggering the authentication of the host in multi-host system is provided to enable the network to support the triggering authentication or the re-authentication.
