Abstract:
An electrical connector assembly includes a carrier and a plurality of terminated cable assemblies retained by the carrier. The carrier includes a plurality of first alignment elements and each terminated cable assembly includes one or more second alignment elements. The first and second alignment elements are configured to cooperatively align the plurality of terminated cable assemblies in the carrier.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes an insulative carrier (210) having therein at least one cable connector (220). The carrier (210) is configured to engage a header (100) having a plurality of signal pins (104) and a plurality of shield blades (106) extending therefrom. Each cable connector (220) terminates a corresponding cable (270) and includes a conductive outer housing (222) having an insulative inner housing (226). The inner housing (226) holds first and second conductive terminals (228, 230) in electrical isolation from each other and the outer housing (222). The inner housing (226) is configured for receiving a shield blade (106) between the first and second terminals (228, 230). The outer housing (222) includes a first contact (240) for electrically coupling with the shield blade (106) received between the first and second terminals (228, 230).
Abstract:
A male coaxial connector (20) includes at least one termination device (24) having a tubular shield (50) surrounding and isolated from a pin (60) that is configured to electrically connect with a socket of a female termination device, and a plate (70) extending from one of a leading end of the tubular shield and a leading end of the female termination device. Upon electrical interconnection, the plate forms a ground circuit extending between the at least one termination device and a ground of the female termination device.
Abstract:
An electrical connector system includes a header and a carrier assembly attachable with the header. The header includes a leading end having a plurality of signal pins that are insertable into an electronic device and a stripline ground plate extending from the leading end toward a mating end. The carrier assembly is coupleable with the mating end of the header and includes a plurality of termination devices. Each termination device includes a cable terminated to a contact that electrically couples with one of the signal pins of the header, an insulator disposed around the contact, and a tubular shield disposed around the insulator. When the carrier assembly is connected to the header, the tubular shield contacts the stripline ground plate to commonly ground each signal pin/contact connection within the electrical connector system.
