Abstract:
A hydrofluoroether compound comprises two terminal, independently fluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl groups and an intervening oxytetrafluoroethylidene moiety (-OCF(CF 3 )-) bonded through its central carbon atom to an alkoxy- or fluoroalkoxy-substituted fluoromethylene moiety (-CF(OR)-), each of the terminal groups optionally comprising at least one catenated heteroatom.
Abstract:
A hydrofluoroether compound comprises two terminal fluoroalkyl groups and an intervening substituted or unsubstituted oxymethylene group, each of the fluoroalkyl groups comprising only one hydrogen atom and, optionally, at least one catenated (that is, in-chain) heteroatom; with the proviso that the hydrogen atom is part of a monofluoromethylene moiety.
Abstract:

Also provided are methods of use and manufacture of such compounds.
Abstract:
A composition comprises a distribution of telomers of ethylene and at least one fluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl halide, the telomers comprising at least one polymethylene segment ( -(CH 2 ) n - ) and at least one halomethyl group (-CXH 2 ) and optionally comprising at least one non-fluorine heteroatom, and the halogen being selected from iodine and bromine; wherein the distribution has a number average ratio of methylene moieties of the polymethylene segment to the halomethyl groups of at least about 15.
Abstract:
The present invention provides novel perfluoropolyether silanes, compositions containing the novel perfluoropolyether silanes and method of treating substrates, in particular substrates having a hard surface such as ceramics or glass, to render them water, oil, stain, and/or dirt repellent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to optical elements comprising fluorochemical surface treatments. The invention further relates to materials such as retroreflective sheetings, pavement markings and beaded projection screens comprising a binder and the surface treated optical elements. The fluorochemical surface treatment is substantially free of perfluoroalkyl groups having more than four carbon atoms. Preferably, the surface treatment is a polyfluropolyether-based compound comprising at least one polar group or polar group-containing organic radical.

Abstract:
Described are compositions containing fluorinated polyether isocyanate derived silane compounds for treating substrates such as hard surfaces, e.g. ceramic and/or glass, to render them oil and water repellent, and stain resistant, articles having coatings comprising such compounds, and methods for applying such coatings.
Abstract:
Photoacid generator salts comprising photoactive cationic moieties and segmented, highly fluorinated-hydrocarbon anionic moieties are disclosed which provide high photoacid strength and can be tailored for solubility and polarity. The present invention further relates to photoacid generators as they are used in photoinitiated acid-catalyzed processes for uses such as photoresists for microlithography and photopolymerization.
