Abstract:
A wireless communication device(40)providing a node in the network comprises a wireless transmitter (48), a wireless receiver (46), a transmission buffer (52), and a packet prioritizing unit (50) configured to obtain data relating to packets to be transmitted in the network, obtain indications of the remaining lifetime of the packets, where the indications are based on the time needed for reaching a destination node, prioritize the packets according to the remaining life time indications, where the prioritization is made in ascending order from an indication of a low remaining life time to a high remaining lifetime, and place the packets in the transmission buffer for transmission according to the prioritization.
Abstract:
The invention is a method for maintaining network lifetime of a wireless network in wireless communication system, said network comprising a plurality of device nodes (A-C, Q, N'). Selected ones of the wireless nodes (A, B, C) have assigned roles (1,2,3, GW) in the wireless network. To improve and maintain network lifetime the method comprises determining (4, 14, 24) a below threshold operating condition of a first sensor node (A) assigned to a first role (1) and re-assigning (5, 19, 29) the first role to another second node (Q) in said network. In other aspects of the invention a method, system and a computer program for carrying out the method are described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for reducing interference in a wireless network, said network comprising a plurality of base stations and a plurality of nodes, the method comprising: affiliating each of the nodes with a respective one of the base stations; assigning each of the base stations a respective radio frequency for wireless communication with its affiliated nodes; and allocating each of the base stations respective time slots for wireless communication with its affiliated nodes; wherein each of the affiliating, the assigning and the allocating is done for the purpose of minimizing radio interference between any of the nodes and base stations. The invention also relates to a coordination unit for reducing interference in a wireless network as well as to a wireless network.
