Abstract: The nanoparticle purifying system (100a) includes a container (110) having an interior portion including a plurality of aluminum plates (120). Each of the plurality of aluminum plates (120) includes a solid filtering agent, such as activated charcoal and, optionally, sodium tetra borate. The container (110) can further include an inlet (130) for receiving polluted air, an outlet (140) for discharging purified air, and a pathway extending between the plurality of aluminum plates (120) from the inlet (130) to the outlet (140). The nanoparticle purifying system (100a) includes a removable lid (150) for disposing on the container (110). Each of the plurality of aluminum plates (120) can include an adhesive, such as hot glue and/or carpet glue, for attaching the solid filtering agent to the surfaces of the plurality of aluminum plates (120) and interior surfaces of the container (110).

Abstract: The solar illumination distribution system (10) uses a series of parabolic reflectors (12, 14, 42, 44, 46) and other optical components to direct and distribute solar radiation onto a desired surface (G), such as for illuminating a stadium or arena as well as providing light for the growth of natural turf in desired locations within the stadium or arena. A primary parabolic reflector (12) and a secondary parabolic reflector (14) focus solar radiation onto one end of a fiber optic bundle (24), which transmits the solar radiation to a desired location. At the desired location, the light transmitted through the fiber optic bundle (24) is distributed through a plurality of fiber optic cables (36, 38, 40) to a plurality of tertiary parabolic reflectors (42, 44, 46) to illuminate the desired surface (G).

Abstract: The shoe with body function measurement system (10) is an article of footwear (28) having multiple sensors (16, 18, 24, 26) for measuring a variety of body functions of a wearer of the article of footwear. A controller (22) is mounted in the article of footwear (28) and is in electrical communication with at least one load cell sensor (16, 18), which generates signals representative of a weight of the wearer of the article of footwear (28). A temperature sensor (26) is also mounted in the article of footwear (28) for generating signals representative of a temperature of the wearer of the article of footwear (28). Further, a photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor (24) is mounted in the article of footwear (28) for generating signals representative of a heart rate of the wearer of the article of footwear (28). A wireless transceiver (36) transmits signals representative of the body functions to a device (12).
