Abstract: An example system includes an input terminal operable to receive an input signal having first pulses, a first delay circuit, a second delay circuit, and a latch circuit. The first delay circuit is operable to generate a first delay signal based on the input signal. The first delay signal has second pulses, each including a respective falling edge that is delayed in time with respect to a corresponding falling edge of the first pulses. The second delay circuit is operable to generate a second delay signal based on the input signal. The second delay signal has third pulses, each including a respective falling edge that is delayed in time with respect to a corresponding rising edge of the first pulses. The latch circuit is operable to generate a latch signal based on the first delay signal and based on the second delay signal.

Abstract: A method of measuring light intensity comprising exposing a photodiode to light to cause the photodiode to provide a current of a first polarity, supplying said current to an integrator to integrate said current to provide an integrated output voltage, and comparing the output voltage with a threshold voltage. Charge packages of opposite polarity are applied to said first polarity to reset the integration voltage prior to the start of the integration time. At the end of the integration time, the photodiode is disconnected from said integrator and a reference voltage coupled to the integrator input, whilst a resistance is coupled into the circuit until the comparison signal switches. The comparison signal is monitored to measure a time between the end of the integration time and the switching of the comparison signal to provide a measure of a residual voltage.

Abstract: An optical sensor arrangement comprises a photodiode (11), an integrator (12) with an integrator input (15) coupled to the photodiode (11), a comparator (13) with a first input (18) coupled to an integrator output (16) of the integrator (12), and a reference capacitor circuit (14) that is coupled to the integrator input (15) and is designed to provide a charge package to the integrator input (15).
