Abstract:
Multi-port flow control valves are provided wherein the outlet ports 54-59 may be opened in cascade fashion to allow fluid to flow through the outlet ports into at least two conduits in which the opening of the outlet ports is controlled by a signal indicating the need for fluid in the conduits. The valves are particularly useful for controlling the supply of heating/cooling fluid to multiple heating/cooling coils employed to control reactions. In a preferred embodiment the opening of the ports is controlled according to the heat measured in the reaction.
Abstract:
A heat exchanger for delivery of heat transfer fluid to a process heat transfer surface is provided, the heat exchanger is in contact with a process fluid and the heat transfer surface comprises at least five heat transfer conduits each having a cross sectional area for the flow path of less than 2000 square millimetres wherein the linear velocity of the heat transfer fluid through the heat transfer conduits is from 0.5 to 20 m.s and adapted so that the temperature of the heat transfer fluid changes by at least 1 °C when they system is operating at design load, the exchanger enables more accurate temperature measurement and control in physical and chemical reactions. Also provided is a heat transfer system in which the heat transfer conduit for passage of the heat transfer fluid is attached to an expansion plate which is in contact with the heat transfer surface and enables independent movement of the heat transfer conduit and the heat transfer surface as their temperature change due to changes in temperature and/or pressure.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A hearing aid (200) comprises at least one microphone (210), a signal processing means (220) and an output transducer (230). The signal processing means is adapted to receive an input signal from the microphone. The signal processing means is adapted to apply a hearing aid gain to the input signal to produce an output signal to be output by the output transducer, and the signal processing means further comprises means for adjusting the hearing aid gain up or down until the hearing aid gain differs from the direct transmission gain by more than a predetermined value.
