Abstract: Sensor data may be received from a plurality of sensors installed on a vehicle and characterizing driving conditions of the vehicle. The sensor data may be continuously stored in a ring buffer implemented using a random access memory (RAM). A recording trigger to record event data related to a driving event of the vehicle may be received. A subset of sensor data may be extracted from the ring buffer, based on the recording trigger. The subset of the sensor data may be recorded in an event file in a second memory.

Abstract: Described techniques provide addressing schemes that account for address differences between active and inactive memory banks in dual bank memory architectures used in software over the air (SOTA) updates implemented using address swapping between the dual memory banks, including providing address translations where needed to obtain one standard addressing scheme for purposes of SOTA updates. A timing and implementation of authentication and booting techniques may ensure that signature authentication and boot processes use correct memory addresses across the dual memory banks to enable updates of both an application and a bootloader to occur. Swapping techniques are described that enable robust, secure swapping between the banks, and that enable SOTA updates to hardware security manager (HSM) software, while ensuring use of such HSM software in dual bank scenarios.

Abstract: Described techniques include producing data at a producer node of a data pipeline for processing vehicle data characterizing an operation of a vehicle. The producer node may select a data buffer from a plurality of shared data buffers shared by at least two consumer nodes and write the data to the selected data buffer. Event data may be received at an event producer node of the data pipeline, and the event data may be written by the event producer node to at least one control buffer of a plurality of shared control buffers that are shared by the at least two consumer nodes. Synchronized consumption of the data from the selected data buffer by each of the at least two consumer nodes may thus be executed, based on the event data, to thereby complete the processing and characterize the operation of the vehicle.

Abstract: Described systems and techniques enable anonymous collection of sensor data related to vehicle driving events of a vehicle. A start event of the vehicle may be detected, and an anonymous name may be generated, based on the start event. A subset of the sensor data related to a start-specific event of the vehicle may be extracted. The subset of the sensor data may be stored in an event file for the start-specific event that is designated using the anonymous name, and the event file may be uploaded from the vehicle to an external network.

Abstract: A policy file may be received at a vehicle outfitted with a plurality of sensors, the policy file governing a policy for capturing and uploading sensor data from at least one of the plurality of sensors characterizing a driving event of the vehicle. An over the air (OTA) update of a policy manager installed at the vehicle may be executed to install the policy file, the policy manager being configured to analyze the sensor data to detect and capture a subset of the sensor data related to the driving event, based on the policy file. The subset of the sensor data may be recorded in an event file, and the event file may be uploaded to the external network, based on the policy file. Consequently, it is possible to identify, transmit, and analyze driving events, while continuing to use sensor data for autonomous driving and control of a vehicle.
