Abstract:
Disclosed are a capacitance measurement circuit and a method for measuring capacitance. The capacitance measurement circuit and the method for measuring the capacitance measure capacitance values by changing control codes when a control unit generates control codes of a predetermined number according to a defined rule and determines sensed signal levels as normal levels according to the generated control codes. Accordingly, the measured capacitance values can be outputted as stable values irrespective of noise interference.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for reducing the power consumption throughout a system by effectively processing a touch signal for a touch event in a touch-sensor controller of a touch-screen device. A device including a touch screen according to the present invention comprises: a touch-sensor controller generating and processing a touch signal for a touch event; and a system controller receiving the touch signal from the touch-sensor controller to perform an operation in response to the touch signal, wherein the touch sensor controller determines whether the touch event is a multitouch, generates the touch signal in another form according to whether the touch event is a multitouch, and then transmits the touch signal to the system controller. The present invention is advantageous in that the power consumption of a device including a touch screen can be effectively reduced.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an input apparatus and to a method for detecting a contact position of an input apparatus. The apparatus comprises: a touch panel including a plurality of first touch patterns arranged in a first direction to generate a first contact signal according to a contact position in the first direction, and a plurality of second touch patterns arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction to generate a second contact signal according to a contact position in the second direction; and a touch sensor for calculating coordinates of the contact position according to the first and second contact signals, and storing the coordinates of the contact position over time, wherein, when there are at least two contact positions and a time difference between contact times of the two or more contact positions is greater than a reference value, the touch sensor performs a first sensing operation for detecting the coordinates of actual contact positions by using previously stored contact position coordinates, and when the time difference is less than or equal to the reference value, the touch sensor performs a second sensing operation for detecting the coordinates of the actual contact positions by using the impedance of the touch patterns that vary according to the contact positions.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a communication system with an automatic restoring function against a faulty operation and a restoring method thereof. The present invention includes a master device for transmitting a reference clock through a clock line, transmitting and receiving data through a data line, and making a request on input data and error detection data and receiving the requested data, and a slave device for detecting human input data, transmitting and receiving the data in synchronization with the reference clock or generating and transmitting the input data, and transmitting the stored error detection data in response to the request for the error detection data, wherein the master device compares the stored error detection data and the received error detection data, and initializes the slave device if the compared data are not matched with each other. Accordingly, the communication system with an automatic restoring function against a faulty operation and a restoring method thereof according to the present invention are capable of restoring the slave device to a normal operating condition by permitting the master device to recognize a faulty operation of the slave device and initialize the slave device, when the faulty operation occurs in the slave device having a volatile storing unit due to influences from an external environment in the communication system having a master-slave structure.
