Abstract:
A torque impulse tool for screw joint tightening including an automatic power shut-off means and comprising a pneumatic motor (12), a hydraulic impulse generator (13), an air inlet valve (20) communicating with the motor, and a retardation responsive activation means (19) corotative with the motor (12) and including an inertia actuator (45) and a connection member (26, 27). The latter being disposed between the inlet valve (20) and the activation means (19) for shifting the inlet valve (20) from an open condition to a closed condition when activated by the activation means (19) at a predetermined maximum retardation level reached in the motor, and a secondary inertia member (51) arranged to maintain initially the inlet valve (20) in a partial flow condition and to accomplish shifting of the inlet valve (20) from the partial flow condition to the open condition at retardation magnitudes exceeding a predetermined threshold level, lower than the maximum retardation level, thereby providing a reduced motor speed and power output during an initial tightening stage.
Abstract:
An electric power tool having means for alternatively disabling and enabling tool operation comprises a code signal receiver (7) and an electronic control means (11) supported on the tool, which control means (11) is arranged to be switched to an operable mode when a code signal (4) is received by the code signal receiver (7) and to be switched to an inoperable mode as the power supply voltage is disconnected or as a certain interval of operation has been completed, wherein the control means (11) remains in the inoperable mode until the code signal (4) is received by the code signal receiver (7).
Abstract:
A method for simultaneous tightening of two or more screw joints by means of a nut running tool having two or more output spindles, wherein each joint is run down through a seated condition to a desired pretension condition while detecting the instantaneous torque load on each spindle, the instantaneous torque load on each but one spindle is continuously compared with the instantaneous torque load on the other spindles, and the rotation speed of each spindle is continuously adjusted so as to generate an instantaneous torque load on each spindle that remains within a predetermined torque span in relation to that spindle momentarily having the highest, alternatively, lowest torque.
