摘要： An asphalt composition comprising aggregates and a binder material, wherein the binder material comprises humins, which humins comprise carbonaceous water-insoluble by-products of the dehydration of carbohydrates and/or 5-hydroxymethylfurfural and/or ethers or esters of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural. The invention also provides a binder material for use in asphalt compositions comprising from 1 to 95 % wt, preferably from 5 to 60 %wt of such humins, based on the weight of the binder material. The invention further provides for the use of such humins in the manufacture of binder material for asphalt compositions and the use of such humins as binder material in asphalt compositions.

摘要： A benzene compound is prepared in a process, which comprises (i) reacting a furan compound of formula (I): wherein R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, -CHO, -CH 2 OR 3 , -CH(OR 4 )(OR 5 ), -COOR 6 , wherein R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are the same or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, alkaryl, aralkyl, alkylcarbonyl and arylcarbonyl, or wherein R 4 and R 5 together form an alkylene group, and wherein R 6 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl and aryl, with an olefin of the formula (II): R 7 -CH=CH-R 8 ; wherein R 7 and R 8 are the same or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, sulfonate, -CN, -CHO, and -COOR 9 , wherein R 9 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, and an alkyl group, or R 7 and R 8 together form a –C(O)-O-(O)C- group or a –C(O)-NR 10 -C(O)- group, wherein R 10 represents hydrogen, an aliphatic or an aromatic group, to produce an unsaturated bicyclic ether having an unsaturated carbon-carbon bond; (ii) hydrogenating the unsaturated carbon-carbon bond in the unsaturated bicyclic ether to produce a saturated bicyclic ether; and (iii) dehydrating and aromatizing the saturated bicyclic ether to produce the benzene compound.

摘要： Modified humins are prepared in a process comprising: contacting humins with a reactive compound selected from the group consisting of a carboxylic acid, an acyl halide, a carboxylic anhydride, an olefin, an epoxy-group containing compound and combinations thereof in the presence of an organic aprotic solvent to obtain a humins-containing admixture; maintaining the humins-containing admixture at elevated temperature to achieve a reaction between the humins and the reactive compound, thereby obtaining modified humins; and recovering the modified humins.

摘要： A fuel composition comprises humins and at least one organic oxygenated solvent which has an apparent viscosity of at most 1.5 Pa.s at 100 ⁰C at a shear rate of 30 s -1 . Humins are produced by the dehydration of carbohydrates. The organic oxygenated solvent is selected from the group consisting of alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, acids, esters, which may be aromatic, cycloaliphatic and aliphatic, and mixtures thereof. The fuel compositions can be used as marine fuel.
