摘要： A conducted electrical weapon ("CEW") comprises one or more mechanisms for receiving, aligning, and maintaining a position of a magazine within a bay of the CEW. Bias spring and datums may be used to align the magazine to be coupled to the CEW, wherein bias springs are configured to apply pressure to push the magazine to interact with datums to align the magazine. A spring and ramp mechanism may be used to maintain a position of the magazine coupled to the bay of the CEW. Respective grades of a locking ramp and a release ramp are used to lock a spring in place when a magazine is coupled to the bay of the CEW.

摘要： A safety switch for a conducted electrical weapon ("CEW") may be configured to operate between at least one fixed position and at least one momentary position. In response to the safety switch being operated into the at least one momentary position, the safety switch may return to the at least one fixed position. In the fixed position, the safety switch may be configured to perform a firing mode operation. In the momentary position, the safety switch may be configured to perform a non-firing mode operation.

A cartridge may comprise a cartridge identifier coupled to an outer surface of the cartridge. The cartridge identifier may include a physical property indicating a cartridge type of the cartridge. The cartridge identifier may allow the cartridge to be correctly received into the bore of the magazine.

The CEW uses sensors to detect an indicator magnet indicating that a magazine is inserted into a bay of the CEW. The CEW additionally uses sensors to detect information about the set of magnetic elements and determines, based on the detected information, a type of the magazine.
