Abstract: A retreaded tire assembly (66) and method for making the same is disclosed. The method and assembly provide for the application of new tread (60) to a buffed tire casing (12) with only a layer of cushion gum (50) disposed therebetween. The cushion gum (50) is applied directly to the buffed circumference (44) of a tire casing (12) without the use of conventional spray cement normally applied to the buffed surface (44) of the entire casing.
