Abstract: This invention is a device for connecting an end of a HV cable to an HV installation, comprising a pre-fabricated pipe-like unit (2) and the method for installing this device. The pipe-like unit comprises a connection piece (6, 6b) made out of an electrically conducting material and an insulator tube (5, 5r) which is connected to the connection piece (6, 6b) in a fluid-tight way. The insulator tube (5, 5r) is made out of an insulating material. The HV installation is typically a HV joint or a termination.
