    Abstract: An infrared presence detector system includes a focal plane array and a processor coupled to the focal plane array. The array includes a first radiant energy sensor and a plurality of second radiant energy sensors, with the first and second radiant energy sensors configured to convert incident radiation into an electrical signal. The processor is coupled to the focal plane array, and is configured to control the focal plane array in a sleep mode, wherein the first radiant energy sensor is energized and the plurality of second radiant energy sensors are de-energized, and an active mode, wherein at least the plurality of second radiant energy sensors are energized when the first radiant energy sensor detects a presence.

    Abstract: A HVAC management system includes a space having an atmospheric condition to be controlled. Also included are air manipulation components to alter the atmospheric condition of the space. Further included is a sensor assembly located proximate the space for approximating a number of occupants present in the space based on a number of mobile devices located within the space. The sensor assembly includes a receiver capable of detecting communication data associated with a mobile device. The HVAC management system yet further includes a controller in operative communication with the air manipulation components and the sensor assembly, the controller receiving information from the sensor assembly comprising temperature data and the number of mobile devices, the controller controlling the air manipulation components based on the information received from the sensor assembly.

    Abstract: A radar presence detection system is configured to detect oscillations within a building. The radar presence detection system includes an accelerometer, a radar, and a processing unit. The accelerometer is attached to the building and configured to detect structural vibration waves. The radar is configured to transmit a monitoring wave and receive a reflected wave. The processing unit includes a filter, an adaptive filter, and a detector. The filter is configured to receive a first signal indicative of the reflected wave and output a filtered reflected wave signal spanning a frequency range indicative of an oscillation within the building. The adaptive filter is configured to receive a second signal indicative of the structural vibration wave signal and output a focused vibration signal spanning a frequency range for the cancellation of vibration noise.
