Abstract: Systems (100) and apparatus (110) for providing long-term cold storage of solid materials (605) such as dry ice are disclosed. The solid materials (605) are stored in a tank (110, 210) configured to maintain the materials in their solid state. The tank (110, 210) is designed with a port (320) sufficiently large to facilitate ingress and egress of the solid materials (605). A cryogenic liquid is used within the tank (110, 210) to substantially prevent the solid materials (605) from sticking to each other, and to maintain the solid materials (605) at a low temperature.
