Abstract: One embodiment is a heat exchanger comprising a shell surrounding a first fluid plenum, a plurality of flow chamber walls positioned inside the shell, and a diffuser positioned inside the shell. The plurality of flow chamber walls: at least partially define a plurality of first fluid radial flow channels in flow communication with a first fluid inlet and the first fluid plenum, at least partially define a plurality of second fluid axial flow channels in flow communication with a second fluid inlet, and comprise an arcuate shape and arranged in an array to at least partially define arcuate shapes of the first fluid radial flow channels and the second fluid axial flow channels. The diffuser includes a diffuser surface at least partially defining a diffusion flow path from the first fluid inlet and the plurality of first fluid radial flow channels.

Abstract: A waste heat recovery system (100) is provided. At least one heat exchanger (104) is fluidically coupled to a waste heat source (102) and is configured for selectively recovering heat from the waste heat source (102) to heat a working fluid (108). An energy conversion device (112) is fluidically coupled to the at least one heat exchanger (104) and is configured to receive the working fluid (108) and to generate an energy for performing work or transferring the energy to another device using the heat recovered from the waste heat source (102). A condenser (122) is fluidically coupled to the energy conversion device (112) and configured to receive the working fluid (108) from the energy conversion device (112) and to condense the working fluid (108) into a liquid phase.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a cylinder block, a cylinder head integral with the cylinder block, and a cylinder bore extending along a longitudinal axis within the cylinder block body. The cylinder bore has an upper portion adjacent the cylinder head and a lower portion longitudinally inward of the upper portion. The upper portion of the cylinder bore has a first radius and the lower portion of the cylinder bore having a second radius which is less than the first radius.
