Abstract: A method and an apparatus for sterilizing footwear by heat and ultraviolet rays are described. Such a method is characterized by comprising a first step wherein the footwear are carried from the entrance to the exit of the sterilization chamber, or chambers, by a carrying device, and a second step of sterilizing the footwear by heat and ultraviolet rays inside the sterilization chamber, or chambers. Preferably the sterilizing step comprises a first sterilizing step by heat only and a subsequent sterilizing step by ultraviolet rays only inside two distinct and preferably reciprocally in succession sterilization chambers.
