Abstract: An isocyanate-based foam composition includes a polyol, an isocyanate-containing component and a silicone polyether stabilizer having the following structure: (CH 3 ) 3 Si - [OSi(CH 3 ) 2 ] x - [OSi(CH 3 )(Y)] y - OSi(CH 3 ) 3 where x is 0 to 15, y is 1 to 2, and Y is (CH 2 ) n O-(CH 2 CH 2 O) e -(CH 2 CH(R))O) p -Z where n is 1 to 10, e is 5 to 15, p is zero to 10, R is -CH 3 or CH 2 CH 3 and Z is selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, acyl, and alkyl succinic anhydride groups wherein 20 mole-percent or less of the Z groups are hydrogen, wherein the ratio of e/x is greater than 0.5 and the number average molecular weight of the silicone polyether stabilizer is less than 4300 grams per mole as determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and wherein the [OSi(CH 3 ) 2 ] and [OSi(CH 3 )(Y)] units can be block or random copolymerized

Abstract: A rigid polyurethane foam formulation comprising a polyester polyol having a hydroxyl number of from 150 to 600 mg KOH/g and a functionality of at least 2, a blowing agent comprising water and an auxiliary blowing agent, a non-silicone organic surfactant, greater than 0.1% to less than 3.7% of a cyclic siloxane, by weight based on the total weight of the foam formulation, a catalyst, and optionally a flame retardant; and a polyisocyanate; such that the isocyanate index is in the range of from 100 to 500, a rigid polyurethane foam formed from the foam formulation; and a method of forming a rigid polyurethane foam.

Abstract: A composition is disclosed, which comprises (A) an organohydrogensiloxane having cyclic siloxane moieties including silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms. The composition further comprises (B) a polyether compound having an aliphatically unsaturated group. Finally, the composition comprises (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst. A silicone polyether surfactant prepared by reacting components (A) and (B) in the presence of component (C) is also disclosed. In addition, an isocyanate-reactive component comprising a polyol and the silicone polyether surfactant is disclosed. A composition comprising the isocyanate-reactive component, an isocyanate component comprising a polyisocyanate, and a catalyst is further disclosed. Finally, a method of preparing an article comprising a polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate foam, and an article formed from the composition and/or the method, are disclosed.
