    Abstract: A rotor comprising a rotor core assembly secured to a shaft. The rotor core assembly comprises a magnet and an end cap secured to an end of the magnet. Each of the magnet and the end cap has a bore into which the shaft extends. The end cap forms an interference fit with the shaft. The magnet forms a clearance fit with the shaft and an adhesive is located in the clearance between the magnet and the shaft. Additionally, a method of manufacturing the rotor. The method comprises inserting the shaft into the bore of the end cap. An adhesive is then introduced into the bore of the magnet and the shaft is inserted into the bore of the magnet so as to cause adhesive to be drawn into the clearance defined between the magnet and the shaft.

    Abstract: A method of mounting a rotor assembly to a frame of an electric motor (10) includes a step of providing a rotor assembly having a bearing (26) and a frame having a bearing seat (44). The method includes a further step of locating the bearing (26) within the bearing seat (44), than the step of applying a first adhesive (35) at a substantially hidden interface between the bearing (26) and the bearing seat (44), than the step of applying a second adhesive (37) at an interface substantially visible from outside between bearing (26) and bearing seat (44). Two final steps are curing the first adhesive and the second adhesive using two different curing processes.

    Abstract: An electric motor (10) has a rotor assembly (12) having a bearing (26), and a frame (14) having a bearing seat (44). The bearing (26) is received within the bearing seat (44).     Abstract: Mounting method of a rotor assembly (12) into a frame (14) of an electric motor (10) includes providing a rotor assembly (12) having a shaft (16) and at least one bearing (26) and providing a frame (14) having a stator core (52) and a bearing seat (44). The bearing seat (44) has an aperture (48). The bearing (26) or the internal surface of the bearing seat (44) comprises an annular groove (34). After inserting the bearing (26) in the bearing seat (44) a first adhesive 35 is injected through the aperture 48 into the annular groove (34). Thereafter, a relative movement between the bearing (26) and the bearing seat (44) is affected and finally the adhesive is cured.
