Abstract: A tissue compression device for forming an anastomosis between first and second anatomical structures may include a first device portion having a first magnetic member and a second device portion having a second magnetic member. The magnetic members are configured to magnetically draw together the first and second device portions to compress tissue positioned therebetween. The compression device further includes a latching mechanism configured to couple the first device portion with the second device portion when the device portions are magnetically drawn together. The latching mechanism may include a first latching member extending from the first device portion and a second latching member extending from the second device portion. The latching members are configured to lockingly engage and thereby couple the first device portion with the second device portion.

Abstract: Surgical hubs are disclosed. A surgical hub is configured to communicably couple to a plurality of modular devices. The surgical hub comprises a processor and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the surgical hub to: receive perioperative data from a modular device; determine an event type associated with the perioperative data received from the modular device; aggregate, for each event type, the perioperative data from a plurality of modular devices; compare, for each event type, the aggregated perioperative data from the plurality of modular devices with baseline perioperative data; and provide feedback according to whether the aggregated data for a subject event type deviates from the baseline perioperative data for the subject event type. The perioperative data comprises data detected by the plurality of modular devices during the course of a surgical procedure.

The first and second device portions are configured to compress tissue positioned between the first and second mating surfaces.
