The present invention relates to a method for a cellular network of setting up a communication link with a wireless terminal, the cellular network comprising at least one anchor base node and at least one non-anchor base node, the anchor base node being capable of broadcasting at least one signal channel, the non-anchor base node being capable of beamforming based communication, comprising the step for the anchor base node of: receiving (M1) from the wireless terminal a communication request comprising a request to communicate with at least one of the non-anchor base node, informing (M3) the at least one non-anchor base node about the retrieved communication request, instructing (M6) the requesting wireless terminal to transmit a synchronization sequence, further comprising the steps for the non-anchor base node of: scanning (M5) its coverage area for receiving of the synchronization sequence and adapting (M8) transmit beamforming related to the reception of said synchronization sequence from the wireless terminal, and sending (M9) a message to the wireless terminal, using said transmit beamforming.
