Abstract: A belt (1) comprising a first cover layer (2) with a first top surface (21) and preferably also a second cover layer (3) with a second top surface (31), wherein the first cover layer (2) and, if present, the second cover layer (3) consist of a foam comprising a thermoplastic or thermoplastic elastomer, in particular a TPU or PEBA. The belt is suitable e.g. as a machine tape in mail sorting machines and for power transmission.
