    Abstract: An air disc brake system for a heavy-duty vehicle comprising an axle. A spindle is attached to an end portion of the axle. At least a portion of an air disc brake assembly is supported by the spindle. A suspension beam has an axle support portion connectable with the axle. An end portion of the suspension beam is spaced from the axle support portion for attachment with the heavy-duty vehicle. The suspension beam may pivot about the end portion of the suspension beam. An actuator actuates the air disc brake assembly. The actuator has a movable member to actuate the air disc brake assembly. Structure is associated with the suspension beam for supporting at least a portion of the actuator. A surface defines an opening in the suspension beam through which the movable member may extend or that may receive and support a portion of the actuator.

    Abstract: A torque plate for heavy-duty vehicles includes a reduced size and structural features that enable the torque plate to be used in conjunction with a reduced diameter brake rotor. The torque plate is rigidly attached to an axle of the heavy-duty vehicle. The torque plate includes an axle ring that is formed with a thickness and an opening for receiving the axle, in which the axle ring engages an outer diameter of the axle. Each one of a pair of bodies is formed with a thickness and extends radially outwardly in opposite directions from the axle ring. Each body thickness is less than the axle ring thickness. Each one of a pair of carrier mounting bosses extends radially outwardly from a respective one of the bodies. The torque plate also includes a pair of anti-lock braking system sensor mounting bosses, and a pair of splash guard mounting bosses.

    Abstract: A wireless sensor for a wheel end assembly of a heavy-duty vehicle is provided. The wheel end assembly includes a wheel hub and a hub cap mounted on the wheel hub. The sensor includes mounting means disposed in the hub cap. Sensing means are mounted on the mounting means to sense at least one condition of the vehicle. A processor is mounted on the mounting means and is electrically connected to the sensing means to process data from the sensing means. Communication means are mounted on the mounting means and are electrically connected to the processor to communicate the processed data to a user. An electrical energy storage device is mounted on the mounting means and is electrically connected to the sensing means, the processor and the communication means, enabling the sensor to be independent from the vehicle power supply. The sensor also accommodates components of a tire inflation system.
