    Abstract: In one example, an electronic device may include a touch panel defining an input surface having an input region and a display panel disposed below the touch panel. The display panel may visualize a virtual keyboard including a set of virtual keys. Further, the electronic device may include a haptic array module disposed below the display panel. The haptic array module may include a first actuator disposed below the input region corresponding to a first virtual key of the set of virtual keys. Further, the electronic device may include a controller in communication with the haptic array module to trigger the first actuator to generate a haptic output at the input region in response to an activation of the virtual keyboard.

    Abstract: The present subject matter relates to keycaps for keyboards. In an example implementation, a method of fabricating a keycap for a keyboard comprises coating a first layer on a keycap substrate, coating a second layer on the first layer, and coating a third layer on the second layer. The first layer is a transparent layer, the second layer is an opaque layer, and the third layer is a transparent layer that provides durability to the keycap. The method also comprises removing a portion of the third layer and the second layer through laser etching to form a character on the keycap.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to an electronic device, including an input component. The input component can include an input interface, a polymer layer, an airflow vent, and a porous PTFE layer. The polymer layer can exhibit a neutral position and a stressed position when the input interface is depressed, and the polymer layer can be resiliently returnable to the neutral position when not depressed. The polymer layer can define an air channel opposite the input interface. The airflow vent can allow airflow out of and into the air channel when a volume of the air channel is modified due to depression and release of the input interface. The porous PTFE layer can be associated with the airflow vent, and can be breathable to the airflow but resistant to liquid penetration.

    Abstract: In one example, touchpad assembly is disclosed, which may include a bottom cover, a horizontal elastic member flexibly positioned on the bottom cover, a balancing bar disposed on the bottom cover and substantially parallel to the horizontal elastic member, and a metal dome. The metal dome may include a first end fixedly connected to the bottom cover via a first fixture, and a second end to hold the horizontal elastic member and the balancing bar such that the balancing bar is flexibly engaged with the bottom cover. The balancing bar, the metal dome, and the horizontal elastic member may control a flexure of a touchpad when the touchpad is pressed.

    Abstract: The present subject matter relates to backlight keyboards. In an example implementation of the present subject matter, backlight keyboards and methods of fabricating lighting units for such backlight keyboards are described. In an example, a backlight keyboard includes a substrate and a plurality of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) disposed on the substrate. The backlight keyboard further includes a printed circuit disposed on the substrate, where the printed circuit comprises of a plurality of electrical connections to provide electric current to the plurality of LEDs, and where width of each of the plurality of electrical connections is predefined to control brightness of a corresponding LED from amongst the plurality of LEDs.
