Abstract: Disclosed are a printing device, a system and a method for printing medium feed. A device may comprise a support member and multiple rollers. The support member may support a print medium. The multiple rollers may each advance the print medium from the support member in an advance direction. The multiple rollers are arranged in a distributed manner along a width direction. The multiple rollers are operable in a disengage state detached from the print medium and the support member and in an engage state of pressing against the support member such to rest on the print medium or, if the print medium does not extend therebetween, to rest on the support member. The multiple rollers in the engage state are individually movable toward the support member.

Abstract: The present disclosure refers to media feeding for a printing system comprising: a first operation mode in which, to feed a print medium, a pre-pick roller assembly moves to an engaged state to advance the print medium in an advance direction to a pick roller and wherein, upon surpassing the pick roller by a first coupling distance, the pre-pick roller moves to a disengage state detached from the print medium; and a second mode of operation in which, to feed a print medium, the pre-pick roller assembly moves to an engaged state to advance the print medium in an advance direction to the pick roller and wherein, upon surpassing the pick roller by a second coupling distance, the pre-pick roller moves to a disengage state detached from the print medium being the second distance higher than the first distance.

Abstract: A printing system comprises an air-transmissive platen, a vacuum source, a cap and a controller. The vacuum source is configured to draw air through the platen to bias print media towards the platen. The cap is provided on a surface of the platen, between the vacuum source and the platen. The cap is configured to limit air flow through the platen, and comprises a plurality of closable openings provided in a plurality of zones along a length of the cap in a print media advance direction. The controller is configured to selectively open or close the openings of each of the plurality of zones to permit airflow through a portion of the platen overlain by print media and limit airflow through a portion of the platen not overlain by print media.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for removing an aerosol generated during a printing process. In an example there is disclosed a device which may comprise an air suction device, an air flow baffle, an aerosol absorber, and a droplet filter. The air suction device may draw air away from an area around a printhead nozzle, past the air flow baffle, through the droplet filter, towards the air suction device. The air flow baffle may cause a change in air flow direction such that at least some aerosol droplets contact the aerosol absorber.
