A printing system for use in inkjet printing. The printing system comprises an inkjet ink having a free binder and a modified pigment, a fixer fluid, and a porous print medium. The free binder may include polymers selected from a polyethyleneimine, a polyguanide, a styrene maleic anhydride imide, a quaternary ammonium compound, a styrene-acrylic polymer, a styrene maleic anhydride polymer, a polyurethane, and mixtures thereof. The at least two polymers may be present at a molecular weight ratio ranging from approximately 0.001 to approximately 10. A method of producing a printed image having increased resistance to wet smudge is also disclosed. The method comprises providing a porous print medium, applying an inkjet ink to the porous print medium, and applying a fixer fluid to the porous print medium.
