Abstract: A patient support overlay is configured to be added to a mattress of a bed to provide continuous low pressure support of a patient. The overlay further includes a structure to reduce moisture at the patient's skin while the patient is supported on the overlay. The overlay is also adapted to provide lateral rotation to a person supported on the overlay. A separate control structure is positioned in a control box that can be supported on the bed. The control box includes the pneumatic and logic circuits necessary to control the operation of the overlay. The control box includes a user interface to allow a user to modify the operation of the overlay for various patient conditions.
