    Abstract: At least a method and an apparatus are provided for efficiently encoding or decoding video. For example, a first set of affine motion model candidates is obtained for a current block. A second set of affine motion model candidates is obtained using a combination of one or more of the affine motion model candidates in the first set. The current block is then encoded or decoded based on one or more of the affine motion model candidates in the first set and the second set.

    Abstract: A decoding method is disclosed.     Abstract: Different implementations are described, particularly implementations for video encoding and decoding using motion compensation with bi-prediction are presented. The encoding method comprises for a picture, obtaining a first predictor for a block of the picture using a first reference picture; obtaining a second predictor for said block of the picture using a second reference picture; using the first predictor and the second predictor for forming a third predictor for the block in bi-prediction inter prediction, wherein the third predictor is obtained as a weighted average of the first predictor and the second predictor; and wherein a weight used in the weighed prediction depend on the position of the sample in the block. Others embodiments are presented for implementing block triangle partition prediction, for implementing block partition prediction using multiple patterns and for corresponding motion compensation in decoding method.

    Abstract: To encode or decode a quantization parameter (QP) for a current block, a QP predictor may be generated, based on one or more quantization parameters of neighboring blocks of the current block. To select neighboring blocks, a position may be selected within the current block. A left (top) neighboring block, which includes a sample that has the same vertical (horizontal) location as the selected position can then be selected. A center position can be used, or multiple positions can be used. The QP predictor for the block may be formed as the left QP, the top QP, or an average of the left and top QPs. The average may be a weighted average, wherein the weights are based on the length of shared borders or surface areas of the neighboring blocks used for predicting the QPs.
