Abstract: A process for making a doped lithium titanate material which includes preparing a liquid composition comprising a titanium source, a lithium source and a dopant source, wherein the dopant source comprises one or more of a lanthanum source and a cerium source, spray drying the liquid composition to provide a spray-dried composition; and annealing the spray-dried composition. The resultant doped lithium titanate may find use in a negative active material for use in negative electrodes.
