Abstract:
A process and device are disclosed for measuring the position of an edge of a web or sheet by photoelectric measurement means. The object of the invention is to allow the position of the edge to be determined with sufficient accuracy even when the edge presents anomalies. For that purpose, a number of photoelectric receivers closely arranged next to each other are used.
Abstract:
The legs (9, 11, 12, 13) of the pallet (1) can be inserted into each other in order to form a stockpile (46), while said legs can be placed on top of each in order to form a self-standing work pile (49).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cylinder for a rotary press which is subdivided into a plurality of sections in a first operational mode. In a second operational mode, the cylinder has a functionally continuous outer surface.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an ink duct (1) disposed in a working position (A) on an ink-metering roller (4) for a rotary printing press. According to the invention, the ink duct can be cleaned easily since it is disposed so as to be pivoted into a second, that is emptying, position (B), in which the printing ink is collected in a very low channel (44).
Abstract:
A process and device are disclosed for assessing the quality of processed sheets. The sheets to be inspected are tautly held on a drum during inspection.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is to avoid registration problems in a high quality sheet-fed, offset rotary press for colour printing with a minimum size. For that purpose, the rotary press has two printing and blanket cylinders with at least two printing surfaces each that co-operate with a central printing cylinder that has one printing surface more than the printing cylinders, and the sheets are only removed from the printing cylinder after printing is finished.
Abstract:
In a stitching device for transversely stitching product sections in a folding machine downstream of a rotary press, the aim is to permit no relative movement between stitching clamps and product sections during the stitching process. This is achieved according to the invention by a binding device in which a stitching head (22) involved in the current stitching process performs a movement directed radially to a counter-cylinder (4).
Abstract:
In a cutting device for transversely cutting travelling webs into signatures of variable length, the aim is to facilitate a simple changeover from gathering to non-gathering operation. According to the invention, this is achieved by cutting cylinders (3) in which the cutting blades (23) can be fitted in staggered array and the cutting cylinder (3) can be phase-shifted.
Abstract:
In a cover for a drive of a folding machine which can be removed without the need for lifting gear, there is a plurality of soundproofing doors (37-42) fitted to hinge about their left or right-hand vertical pivots (43, 44). Each left or right-hand pivot of each door can be released or locked as desired.
