Abstract:
The object of the invention is to avoid registration problems in a high quality sheet-fed, offset rotary press for colour printing with a minimum size. For that purpose, the rotary press has two printing and blanket cylinders with at least two printing surfaces each that co-operate with a central printing cylinder that has one printing surface more than the printing cylinders, and the sheets are only removed from the printing cylinder after printing is finished.

The invention pertains to a sheet-feed offset rotary printing machine and a rotary sheet-feed machine for multicolour printing. The invention addresses the problem of designing a sheet-feed offset rotary printing machine and a rotary sheet-feed machine in which sheets can be printed of a length matched to a simple nominal diameter or to a double nominal diameter. The proposed sheet-feed offset rotary printing machine comprises a forme cylinder (31), blanket cylinder (22) and a first impression cylinder (12) provided with a plurality of controlled gripper systems (14, 16, 17) and a second impression cylinder (86) provided with at least one controllable gripper system (83). The first or second impression cylinder is optionally so arranged as to be capable of co-operating with the blanket cylinder (22). The proposed rotary sheet-feed machine comprises a forme cylinder (31) and a first impression cylinder (12) provided with a plurality of controlled gripper systems and a second impression cylinder (86) with at least one controllable gripper system (83). The first or second impression cylinder is optionally so arranged as to be capable of co-operating with the forme cylinder.

A gripper actuating system for printers is disclosed. The object of the invention is to provide a gripper actuating system for printers fitted with several rows of grippers and in which a sheet is supplied only to every second row of grippers and discharged only from every second row of grippers. This object is attained in that a fixed gripper actuating cam (11) which co-operates with first rollers (22) of roller levers (10) to actuate the grippers located in rows (3) of grippers (3) is associated to a locking segment (24) having locking surfaces, turning at the speed of rotation of the cylinder and co-operating with second rollers (23) of the roller levers (10).

The invention relates to a method and a device for conveying sheets in a sheet-fed printing press. The invention provides a method and a device to convey sheets unmarked on their printing surfaces by means of conveyor and/or positioning element even when the sheet is immediately run through the printing press a second time. According to the invention, this is performed in that the sheet to be printed is exclusively grabbed by a gripping edge during its trajectory (conveyance and positioning).

The object of the invention is to provide a gripper actuating cam for printers equipped with several rows of grippers and in which a sheet is supplied only to every second row of grippers and discharged only from every second row of grippers. This object is attained in that the gripper actuating cam (11) associated to the roller levers (10.1, 10.2, 10.3) of the rows of grippers (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) is designed as a gripper actuating cam having i actuating surfaces and revolving at the speed of rotation of the cylinder (4).

The invention relates to a method for printing the front and the reverse side of a sheet. The invention provides a method for printing the front side of the sheet and subsequent printing of the reverse side thereof without requiring great mechanical and technical means or excessive handling. According to the invention, this is performed in that the sheet to be printed is taken out of the sheet feed pile (1), passed on to the sheet guide cylinder (4) to print the reverse side of the sheet. Once the reverse side of the sheet is printed, it is forwarded to the sheet exit pile (11) in the direction opposite to the running direction of the sheet towards the sheet guide cylinder (4), by a sheet transporting device (15). It is then deposited in the sheet exit pile (11) placed before the sheet feed pile in an equal plane relative to the running direction (14) of the sheet, the printed reverse side facing upwards. The sheet exit pile (11) can be brought to the position of the sheet feed pile for consecutive printing of the front side of the sheet.

The invention concerns a cylinder (2, 3, 4, 6) with a narrow, inclined slit (14, 47, 48, 49) for securing the packing of a rotary printing press. The object of the invention is to enable the packing to be clamped securely and mounted simply. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a spindle (34) disposed parallel to the inclined slit.
