Abstract:
There is provided a method, apparatus and system for method for tailoring at least one subsequent communication to a user. Data acquired on the user in connection with a plurality of communications to the user is processed to determine a value for one or more characteristics indicative of a state of the user in connection with each communication. At least one communication parameter is varied in respect of each communication. The values for the one or more characteristics indicative of the state of the user that are determined in connection with each communication are compared to identify one or more communication parameters that are most suitable for the user. One or more communication parameters are set for the at least one subsequent communication to the user according to the one or more identified communication parameters. The subsequent communication to the user is enabled based on the set one or more communication parameters.

An improved and adaptive device comprises a signal input (31) for obtaining an image data signal (21) of a user initiating a call, a physiological data extraction unit (32) for extracting physiological data (22) of the user from the obtained image data signal (21), a health condition determination unit (33) for determining the health condition (23) of the user based on the extracted physiological data, and a prioritization unit (34) for determining the priority level and/or conversation duration (24) of the call based on the determined health condition of the user.
Abstract:
The invention provides eye movement monitoring systems and methods which provide data for use in assessing and monitoring changes in cognitive capability of a user over time. Embodiments are based on conducting a display-based visual test, designed to trigger a saccade of a user's eye(s). Eye tracking data captured throughout this test is received by embodiments and used to determine one or more saccadic parameters, including saccade latency: the time delay between presentation of a prompt image and the turning of a user's eye to examine or look at the image. An output is generated based on the calculated saccadic parameters. This may be used to perform subsequent analysis of the results, and to infer cognitive progression.

A position recognition unit (52) is configured for comparing strain data obtained from the at least one strain sensor (30) to predetermined strain data, and recognizing a position of the flexible neck cord (12) in dependence on a result of the comparison.
Abstract:
According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus (2) for detecting an epileptic seizure in a subject, the apparatus (2) comprising a processing unit (4) configured to obtain head movement measurements, wherein the head movement measurements are measurements of movements of a head of the subject; obtain pupil position measurements, wherein the pupil position measurements are measurements of a position of a pupil in a visible part of an eye of the subject; process the head movement measurements relating to a time period to determine if the head moved in the time period; and, if the head moved in the time period, process the head movement measurements and the pupil position measurements for the time period to determine whether the subject experienced a seizure in the time period.
Abstract:
A catheter includes at least two optical sensors distributed along the catheter, each optical sensor comprising: a light pattern generator configured to project at a radial projection angle to the catheter at least one light pattern on the inner surface of an elongated volume into which the optical sensor is inserted; and an imaging device substantially aligned along a length of the optical sensor, the imaging device configured to observe the at least one light pattern on the inner surface of the elongated volume.
Abstract:
Presented is a system and method for assessing the functional ability of a person to perform a task. The system comprises: a task identification unit adapted to identify the task to be performed by the person; and a task complexity unit adapted to obtain a task- specific complexity signal representative of a required level of functional ability to perform the identified task. A functional ability unit is adapted to obtain a functional ability signal representative of a determined functional ability of the person. An assessment unit is adapted to determine an ability of the person to perform the identified task based on the task-specific complexity signal and the functional ability signal.
Abstract:
Presented are concepts for monitoring an infection risk of a user. One such concept provides apparatus comprising: an environmental data acquisition unit adapted to obtain environmental information relating to a surrounding environment of the user; a detection arrangement adapted to detect a source of infection in the surrounding environment of the user and to generate an infection source signal representative of the detected source of infection; a user susceptibility unit adapted to obtain susceptibility information relating to a susceptibility of the user to infection. A risk determination unit may process the infection source signal, the obtained environmental information and the susceptibility information to determine an infection risk value representative of a risk of the user being infected by the source of infection. A cumulative risk assessment unit may determine an accumulated risk value representative of the user becoming infected during a predetermined time period based on the determined infection risk value and historical data relating to previously determined infection risk values obtained for the predetermined time period.
Abstract:
