Abstract: The present invention relates in one aspect to a system and method for providing augmented reality (AR) content to a user, associated with a moveable real-world object, such as a toy vehicle, wherein the moveable real-world object is adapted to move with respect to a real-world scene according to a characteristic motion pattern. An AR toy system may comprise a moveable real world toy and an AR user device adapted to carry out the steps of: recognizing the real world object; attributing the real world object with an AR-target; obtaining a position of the AR-target and a motion vector for the AR-target associated with the position; defining virtual world objects at virtual world coordinates with respect to the position of the AR-target; transforming the virtual world coordinates with respect to the AR-target position by an opposite vector of the motion vector; receiving a steering input; rotating the virtual world coordinates with respect to the AR-target by rotation opposite to the steering input around a corresponding steering axis passing through the AR-target position; and rendering virtual world objects at the transformed and rotated virtual world coordinates.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for recognizing a plurality of real-world toy construction elements of a toy construction system assembled to form a real-world toy construction model, each real-world toy construction element comprising coupling members for detachably connecting the real-world toy construction element with one or more other real-world toy construction elements of the toy construction system so as to form the real-world toy construction model; wherein the method comprises: receiving at least one captured image of the real world toy construction model; processing the at least one captured image so as to at least preliminarily recognise at least a first real-world toy construction element in the at least one captured image as a first known real-world toy construction element from stored digital representations of a plurality of known real-world toy construction elements of the toy construction system, each digital representation comprising connectivity information indicative of how the corresponding real-world toy construction element can be detachably connected to other real-world toy construction elements of the toy construction system; detecting image data of at least a second real-world toy construction element in the image within a proximity of the recognised first real-world toy construction element; recognising the second real-world toy construction element as a second known real-world toy construction element from said stored digital representations of said plurality of known real-world toy construction elements of the toy construction system; wherein recognising the second real-world toy construction element is based at least in part on the connectivity information associated with the first and second known toy construction elements.
