Abstract: An aircraft comprising an envelope (6) that is inflatable with a lifting gas that is lighter than air that, at least when inflated has curved upper and lower surfaces. The aircraft has a payload carrying means (5), and an aerodynamic lifting means (8) for creating a vertical annular flow of air that induces a flow of air over the respective upper or lower surface (12, 14) of the envelope (6.). One form of aerodynamic generator (8) comprises a plurality of aerofoil blades (20) mounted for rotation around a periphery of the envelope (6).

Abstract: An airship (10) comprising an envelope and a ballonet (32) positioned within the envelope (30). Drive means is provided for supplying lateral thrust for the airship, to improve lateral control of the airship. The drive means has a dual function as it has an air supply system with an air inlet provided at the bow of the envelope of the airship for supplying air to the balonet (32) to aid pressurisation. A mooring system and detachable gondola (14) is also disclosed.

Abstract: A system and mechanism for the movement of large, outsized and heavy cargo includes a tow cable (30) connectable at a first end to a towing vehicle (35) , a buoyant lift vehicle (10) comprising an inflatable member (10), a tether cable (15) linked to the buoyant lift vehicle (10) and having a connection (20) with the tow cable (30), and a payload connector linked to at least one of said payload tether cable (15) and said tow cable (30).
