Abstract: The present invention relates to a filler and a filler composition based on polynucleotides comprising a nucleic acid polymer chain moiety with a molecular weight distribution from 0.5 to 3000 kDalton, the nucleic acid polymer chain moiety is at least partially crosslinked with a biocompatible crosslinking agent. The filler is applied for aesthetic purposes, in particular to increase the volume of areas of the body or to smooth wrinkles, furrows, skin folds, in particular localized on the face and for orthopedic applications. The progressive hydrolysis of free nucleotides allows the activation of their trophic effect on the tissues, integrating the filler effect with the tissue trophic effect.
