Abstract: A mending kit consisting of individual thread and needle units (20) having prethreaded needles. Each thread and needle unit (20) includes a needle prethreaded with a predetermined length of thread (40) packaged on a card-like housing. The housing (22) includes a seat for the needle (24) which at least partially surrounds the needle (24) to define its position on the housing (22). The length of thread (40) is wrapped around a spool section (42) of the housing (22), also assisting in retaining the needle (24) in position on the housing (22). A thread cutter (54) is provided for the convenience of the user on the housing (22). Retaining slits (44) on the housing (22) secure the free ends of the length of thread (40).
