Abstract:
A bag is provided having a first end and a second end. The bag has a generally tubular shape, with the first end configured to remain sealed and the second end configured to be opened. The second end defines a recess, and the bag is configured to receive one or more objects in the recess defined within the second end. The bag has a first cross section at a location between the first end and the second end. The bag is folded in the first cross-section so that the bag material forms at least three plies. At least one inner ply is formed, at least two outer plies are formed, and a first portion of the at least one inner plies is left exposed. One or more bags may be provided as a sheet. Methods for making the bags and for opening the bags are also provided.
Abstract:
A cosmetic powder apparatus, comprising: (i) a first member; and (ii) a second member, where one or both of the first and second members are movable toward the other of the first and second members to enclose an interior area for storing cosmetic powder. The cosmetic powder applicator comprises structure to affix, in one instance, to a fixed positon relative to a selected one of the first and second members, and for facilitating movement of the cosmetic powder applicator away from the fixed position.
Abstract:
A clip for holding a pair of nozzle inserts for use with an irrigation sprinkler includes at least two flexible attachment arms, each attachment arm provided with an elongated slot and a retention shoulder on an inside surface thereof, adjacent the elongated slot. Each attachment arm is adapted to be received in an opening in a respective nozzle insert and retained therein by the retention shoulder. A related tool includes a pair of gripper arms and a respective pair of jaws extending from the gripper arms, pivotally secured to one another. One jaw is formed with a pair of parallel prongs, and the other jaw is formed with a flat head projecting toward the pair of prongs. The jaws are adapted to engage the nozzle insert and disengage the retention shoulder to permit removal of the nozzle insert from the clip.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of inhibiting vascular hyperpermeability in an animal in need thereof. The method comprises administering an effective amount of a diketopiperazme, a prodrug of a diketopiperazme or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt of either of them to the animal, wherein the diketopiperazme has the formula set forth in the specification. The invention also provides a method of modulating the cytoskeleton of an endothelial cell in an animal. The method comprises administering an effective amount of a diketopiperazme, a prodrug of a diketopiperazme or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt of either of them to the animal, wherein the diketopiperazme has the formula set forth in the specification. The invention further provides a kit. The kit comprises a diketopiperazme, a prodrug of a diketopiperazme or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt of either of them to the animal, wherein the diketopiperazme has the formula set forth in the specification.
Abstract:
Methods for producing packages comprising an aesthetic design embossed in the package weld are disclosed. The method comprises providing a weldable packaging material and welding overlapped portions of that material to form a package, the welding being accomplished by a thermoforming device comprising forming plates etched or molded with the aesthetic design. Packages comprising an aesthetic design embossed in the package weld are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A strip (10) of multiple seals (12), each seal for sealing around overlying courses of strapping material to form a seal of the strapping material onto itself at the overlying courses includes an elongated strip of ductile metal. The strip has a longitudinal direction having edges (22) and defining a longitudinal axis (A10) parallel to the edges, and a transverse direction (20) normal to the longitudinal axis. Each seal defines a respective transverse axis. The strip has a plurality of substantially identical slots (26) formed in the transverse direction to define the respective seals. The slots extend toward, but not to, the edges of the strip and define connecting portions (24) between ends of the slot and the respective edges. The slots are equally spaced from one another in a longitudinal direction to define the respective seals.
Abstract:
Universal wraps are used in the construction of a container centerbody. The wraps may take the form of a top and bottom wrap with complementary stacking patterns, in which the wraps create the centerbody. The wraps permit stacking of different-style containers regardless of which container is positioned as the bottom container. The universal wraps may include curved edge portions to seamlessly and aesthetically blend in with a side panel of the container. The stacking patterns of the wraps may take different forms with various shaped protuberances and recessed portions. Further, one or more of the wraps may have isolation features attached to or integrally formed with an interior surface of the wrap.
Abstract:
Manufacturing of semiconductor devices is fully automated for cost savings to be achieved in terms of capital and material costs. Semiconductor devices separated from the lead- frames or substrates are typically washed and dried before being transferred to a plate. The semiconductor devices are then subsequently transferred from the plate to a holding tray. However, the large contact surface between the semiconductor devices and the plate results in the semiconductor devices adhering to the surface of the plate when transferring the semiconductor devices to the holding tray. Furthermore, misalignment also tends to occur when the devices are transferred from the plate to the holding tray due to gravitational displacement of the semiconductor devices occurring during the transfer. An embodiment of the invention describes an apparatus and a method for transferring semiconductor devices into component pockets of holding trays.
