Abstract:
A light fixture (100 ) includes a flexible color filter material (308) coupled to a scrolling mechanism (500) that moves the material in a first direction to position a selected portion of the color filter material in a part of a light beam from the fixture. A device coupled to the mechanism may move the mechanism in a second direction (506) so that another part of the light beam passes unfiltered. Different areas (B-I) of the color filter material produce different colors, the device may rotate the scrolling mechanism substantially parallel to the plane of the color filter material. The light fixture may also include a second scrolling mechanism (110) coupled to flexible diffusion material (310) for diffusing at least a part of the light beam of the light fixture by a predetermined amount.
Abstract:
A light fixture (100, 600) includes first and second flexible materials (710 and 720) coupled to first and second scrolling mechanisms (750 and 760) that move the material in first and second directions to position a selected portion of the first and second flexible materials in first and second parts (730 and 740) of a light beam (112) from the fixture. A device coupled to the first and second mechanisms may move the first and second mechanisms in third and fourth directions so that third and fourth parts (942 and 944) of the light beam do not pass through the first and second flexible materials. The third and fourth directions are different than the first and second directions. Different areas of the first and second flexible materials may produce different colors. The light fixture may also include a third scrolling mechanism (110) coupled to a flexible diffusion material, to diffuse at least a part of the light beam by a predetermined amount.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed that include overlapping a first portion of a first piece of flexible filter material (106) and a second portion of a second piece of flexible filter material (108). In these systems and methods, the first (106) and second (108) pieces of flexible filter material produce a desired change in a characteristic of a light beam. These systems and methods can include clamping with a positioning mechanism (114) the first piece of flexible filter material (106) and the second portion of a second piece of flexible filter material (108). In addition, these systems and methods can include producing ultrasonic vibrations with an ultrasonic transducer (103) in the first piece of flexible filter material (106) that promotes a bond between the first and second piece of flexible filter material.
Abstract:
A light fixture (100) including a flexible diffusion material (310) coupled to a scrolling mechanism (110) capable of positioning a selected portion of the diffusion material in a light beam (112) from a light source (102). Different portions (O-T) of the diffusion material (310) provide differing amounts of diffusion. The scrolling mechanism (110) may be remotely operated to produce a desired amount of diffusion in the light beam. The light fixture (100) may also include one or more additional scrolling mechanisms (106, 108) coupled to flexible color filter material (306, 308), such that the light beam (112) may be filtered to a desired color. The additional scrolling mechanisms (106, 108) may be remotely operated to produce color filtration of a predetermined color or saturation. A non-scrolling holographic diffusion material (1206) may be removably mounted to a light fixture (1100) having a scrolling mechanisms (1106) coupled to flexible color filter material.
