Abstract:
Method of bonding two components (1500, 1501), comprising the step of compressing the two components together by a device (1503) comprising one or more first wheel (1504) that applies pressure to an outer surface of the first component (1500) and one or more second wheel (1506) that applies pressure to an outer surface of the second component (1501), such that the device travels along the first and second components with movement of the first and second wheels, the device further comprising one or more actuator (1513, 1514) that urges said first wheel and second wheel together in order to compress the two components together and facilitate bonding therebetween, wherein the first and second wheels apply pressure to only a partial region of the outer surfaces of the two components.
Abstract:
A welding head comprises a welding element (51) for welding a lid (1) to an opening device of a container (10). The welding head (43) further comprises a 5 compensating device (62) operable for compensating a misalignment between the welding element (51) and the lid (1), thereby centering the welding element (51) relative to the lid (1).
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to apparatuses for mechanically modifying substrates. The apparatuses include a bonding roll (107) and an anvil roll (106). The bonding roll (107) includes a pattern element (118). The pattern element (118) and associated pattern surface (120) do not extend completely around the circumference of the bonding roll (107). As such, the bonding roll (107) also includes one or more bearer rings (128) that engage the anvil roll (106) during portions of the bonding roll (107) rotation where the pattern element (118) is not in engagement with the anvil roll (106). The pattern element (118) and bearer rings (128) herein are configured to help reduce vibrations in the anvil roll (106) and/or bonding roll (107) caused by the alternating engagements of the pattern surface (120) and bearer rings (128) with the anvil roll (106) during rotation.
Abstract:
An apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material generally includes a rotary ultrasonic horn and a rotary anvil positionable in close proximity to the ultrasonic horn. The anvil has a face with a width and a circumferential axis. The face has a plurality of ridges each of which defines a plurality of interspaced lands and notches.
Abstract:
Apparatus and process for the formation of non-slip portions on garments; the apparatus comprising: a support (4) having a mobile engagement surface (5) for a garment (3); at least one reel holder (6) for a reel (7) of a tape (8) comprising a support layer (9) and a layer of non-slip material (10); an application device (11) operatively connected to the reel holder (6) and selectively engageable against the mobile surface (5) and against the garment (3) for applying the layer of non-slip material (10) onto said garment (3); wherein the reel holder (6) and the application device (11) define at least in part a feeding path and feeding direction of the tape (8) unwound from the reel (6); wherein the apparatus (1) further comprises a cutting device (22) operatively interposed between the reel holder (6) and the application device (11); wherein said cutting device (22) comprises at least one blade (23) acting along a parallel direction to a longitudinal extension of the tape (8) and is configured to longitudinally divide the tape (8) into parallel strips (8', 8", 8"') while said tape (8) advances along the feeding path and before it reaches the application device (11).
Abstract:
Systems and methods for controlling and/or calibrating a pump system for use in negative pressure wound therapy are described herein. In some embodiments, a method for controlling a pump system includes calculating an amplitude and an offset for a drive signal based at least in part on previously calculated parameters and a negative pressure setting, generating the drive signal, and applying the drive signal to a pump system. The pump system can be fludicially connected to a wound dressing positioned over a wound.
Abstract:
A machine for making sheaths for use with medical and dental instruments includes a web attachment station for forming a multilayer material by arranging multiple webs of material with respect to one another. A configuration sealing station receives the multilayer material and seats at least two of the multiple webs of material to form a sealed multilayer material including a number of pockets corresponding to the shape of the medical or dental instrument. A material removal station receives the sealed multilayer material and removes an intermediate material, which may be disposed of and recycled at. a recycling station.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for laser welding a disposable test-unit (10) comprising: providing in a stacked manner a base element (14), a cover element (16) and optionally an intermediate element (22), wherein one of said elements is an absorbing element and at least one other of said elements is a transparent element, directing a laser beam in a weld area (12) through the at least one transparent element and against the absorbing element, fusing together the transparent and the absorbing elements to form a test-unit (10), providing one of said elements (14, 16, 22) in the initial step with a coating (20; 26) adapted to interact with the body fluid when conducting a test, wherein said coating (20; 26) covers the weld area (12) at least in part and absorbs and/or scatters the laser radiation at least in part.
